Slow Motion Gobbler
Hunted the past two days in that near 90 degree heat. Not great weather by any means. Thursday nothing doing. Yesterday I sat at a morning setup for 2 1/2 hrs and saw only hens. Packed up for a location that was a good mid morning location. After another long wait, a Gobbler appeared out front in the woods. He was in no hurry at all. The bird only moved the last 50 yds in an hour. Couldn't believe how slow he was moving. With time growing short, bang and done. The bird was 19 lbs 6 oz with 7/8" Spurs, and a 10" beard.
