Big Redhead Gobbler Down For The Count
What a Great day . It started meeting up with Bigcity & BGCM. We headed to a spot BGCM had put the birds to sleep. As we where walking in they started to Gobble. We wanted to get in a little bit farther but one was roosted about 40 yards down the hedge row. So we set up and put the decoys out then the fun began. Bigcity started to call and the one flew down it turned out to be a Jake. He stood there for about 15 minutes then 3 more Jakes flew down from the othe side of the field. We looked up the field to the right then another Jake appeared. We had Jakes all around, but no Long Beards. We did have another Jake come in behind us and they all got together in the field and they put on a show. After a bit they disappeared and we decided to try another spot.we got set up with the decoys and then the action picked up, we had a hen come from across the field and then 4 Jakes headed our way with a few birds gobbling below us and across from us. The hen headed towards the decoys and then Big Red headed our way letting us know that field belonged to him. Bigcity had him going pretty good he passed within 15 yards of Bigcity and then Big Red came towards the decoys and that's when Big Red Gobbled for the last time. What a great hunt. Thanks for Pete & Bigcity for getting me a awesome bird. 21.4 pounds, 1" Spurs and 9 1/4 beard.

Congrats Phillyarcher. Real nice looking bird. Sounds like you initially had Jake Haven. Holding out was well worth it!
