No Gobble Gobbler
Went out this morning to try again. Walking in to a morning setup location, I bumped a roosted gobbler. Damn! As the other birds gobbled and flew down, they all ended up going the other way. I didn't stay there long. Driving around checking properties, everything was on someone else's ground. I ended up setting up on another mid morning field where the loney birds tend to look for company. An hour or so later a nice Tom appeared about 150 yds out. He never made a sound coming in. He ended up at 25 yds and still not a sound except the BANG. He was 22 lbs 4 oz, with a 10 1/4" heavy beard, and 1" Spurs.
