Turkey poults???
Quick question: Have you guys been seeing a lot of turkey poults?
I have quite a few turkey on my property and see hens and gobblers almost daily. Last night was the first time that I have seen turkey poults all season. These guys were little too and there were probably a dozen of them accompanied by 2 hens and one gobbler. Have to be born within the last week or so. It is mid-July. I would have thought that these birds were breed a long time ago and poults should have been around in late may or early june. My buddy said he actually saw poults while turkey season was still open. Let me know your thoughts if this odd or the norm??

Yep the ones I saw were about that size. Saw them again last night and glassed them. Some of them were actually bigger so it looks like the two hens were breed at different times. Do the poults stay in the nest like other birds for a while? I was just surprised when I was seeing the hens daily but they didn't have the poults with them until a few days ago. I haven't seen any foxes or coyotes but I am sure they are around. I am sure we have raccoons and opossums to that may eaten the eggs
