Finally got a shot.

Finally got a shot.

Been out snow goose hunting six times in the past two weeks. Like alot of guys, I was hoping for a shot on a mature blue goose. Hunted with Ted B and Frank. We had days we were pounded by wind and sand in 40 mph winds. Some mornings were simply on the cold side after getting sweated up putting the decoy spread out. Had days we got nothing and other days we got some birds. Friday, I finally got the shot. Had a massive flock of thousands come right over and low. Picked out a blue, one shot, done. Never bothered to shoot at the rest of the flock. Just watched my blue come down. Two weeks of virtually no sleep and 250 mile round trips paid off.

Thanks guys. Getting a good blue goose was something I wasn't sure would happen. But it wasn't going to be due to lack of trying. Ted B, you got that right. Early morning set-ups putting out hundreds of decoys out and later packing everything up takes it toll. A blue WAS on my bucket list BGCM. If Ted B and the guys want the company, I'm in! Maybe, just maybe, lightning will strike twice. Thanks again guys.
