Stripers in the Delaware river

Stripers in the Delaware river

Went out with a friend on the Delaware river to locate some good spots for his bass tournament this coming Saturday. Got to the boat ramp at 6:30 am Tuesday morning and decided to try a spot that he had previously caught small stripers before we went in search of largemouth bass. We were catching 8-12" stripers on every cast. After about 20 minutes, we decided to scout locations for the tournament and while pulling out, we noticed that there were a lot of bigger bass stacked up right on a ledge where it drops down to deeper water. We made a couple of casts and pulled in a bunch of stripers in the 20-26" range. We stayed only for another 20 minutes then had to leave to scout, but the three of us caught well over 100 bass in less than an hour. I know that if we spent more time there, we would've gotten a few keepers. It was pretty intense with many times, all three of us were hooked up at the same time and everyone was screaming for the net!! Crystal minnows were the hot bait!

Way to go George.

Not sure Tom. I know he had to go to something tonight that was associated with the tourney and then goes back tomorrow morning to fish, then dinner afterwards. Sunday we are going to see if we can get some keeper stripers.
