Flattie Fever

Got out on the banks of the Susky seeking flathead catties with The Undertaker. Loaded up with a bucket of 6 inch sunnies for bait. Arrived a little after 9 pm...Full moon rising. Bugs everywhere. Set up rods with 3 oz weight and a 5/0 circle hook....

Mind you the The Undertaker recently caught a flatty just ounces under the State record. I had a good feeling. Just as all rods were set I said...”Check the time” ….I wanted to sure I could recall when the bite kicked off...if it would. The Undertaker calls out 9:47. Just as he settled down from setting his rod.....BOOM fish on. Not even one minute in the water.....a good start. The bite kept up. Though we landed a few others were lost....50lb test was not match for the powerful flatheads. Good times....can't wait to go again.
