Big old Doe Goes Down

Unread postby Phillyarcher » Sat Dec 02, 2017 9:10 pm

Got in stand about 2:15 this afternoon and the Grey Elks started to drive me crazy. With the ground being dry they were making a good bit of noise. I turned and looked into field behind me and there were Deer about 80 yards away. They were heading away from where I was. I turned back around when I heard some more noise and it was the Gray Elks again. Well I thought it was going to be one of them nights. Within a few moments I looked down by the creek and seen some more Deer but they were a good distance away. So I thought I would grunt to them and it worked. They started to head my way and then they went the other way down along the creek. I waited and then I grunted again a few more times and the curiosity got to them and they came my way. After about a half hour the big Doe gave me a shot and she went 40 yards only problem she went down hill luckily my buddy Bill came over and helped me drag her out. A good night in the Deer woods. Here is a picture of her.
